Adopt - Izzie  Adult  Small  Female

Dachshund:
An adoptable dog in Hartford, CT.

Miss Izzie came to us after her owner went to a nursing home. She is about 7 years old and now weighs about 14 lbs. She came to us weighing over 20 lbs and barely able to walk. Her foster mom put her on a strict diet and exercise plan and she now has her girlish figure back.

Izzie is a sweet girl who gets along well with people and dogs. She even tolerates cats pretty well. She would be happy in a home with or without dogs. Izzy doesn't like the crate but she is gated in the kitchen by her foster family and she does well there. Her house training is wonderful and she walks beautifully on a leash. Izzie greets new people with ease and is not a big barker. She adores going outside and hunting for squirrels and lizards in the back yard but never quite catches them.

The adoption process includes an application, home visit, interviews and vet reference check to make sure we are a "Perfect Match". My adoption fee is $ 395.00 ($185.00 was for my transportation up north...I'm from south Louisiana where dogs are euthanized by the thousands) and includes my neuter, shots, heart worm and flea preventative, and any other medical needs I may have had while in foster care. Good quality food and some TLC was thrown in for good measure.
